The Eves of Destruction (EoD) Roller Girls are proud to be Victoria's premiere Roller Derby League.
We are a non-profit roller derby association dedicated to excelling in sport, while promoting healthy living through physical activity, health education and public awareness. EoD is a community minded organization, growing out of the grass roots movement to elevate roller derby to new heights, while adhering to DIY ethic.
Our gang of luscious roller girls dedicate many hours per week to practicing, volunteering, and preparing for world domination. For 2008, we are thrilled to meet our fellow roller sisters from other cities near and far, both on our our track and away. EoD is excited for our many partnerships with local business, as well as the opportunity to support many community groups and their events within Victoria, B.C.
What is roller derby?
Roller Derby is a grassroots sport, jam packed with hard hits, thrills and spills. Today's incarnation of all-girl flat track roller derby developed from a revival which began in 2001, and has now spread throughout North America and the rest of the world. The Eves of Destruction are proud to be a part of a growing roller derby scene, operating on the principle of "by the skaters, for the skaters". We play under the rules and guidelines developed by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Click here for for info on WFTDA.
Is roller derby real?
YES! Every hit you see at one of our bouts is real and unscripted. EoD are committed to training hard and playing even harder. Flat track roller derby is a sport that combines athleticism, strategy, and teamwork.
What does it take to be a Eves of Destruction roller girl?
Heart, determination, and a desire to kick ass. Our players come from a variety of walks of life, and bring with them a range of skills and abilities. Most importantly, they all have a desire to play derby, and aren't afraid to put in the work and commitment needed to play this exciting and entertaining sport.
